Course summary 

If you are a professional working with children who you believe is a victim of modern slavery ( CCE, CSE, Trafficking, forced labour) this course will help you understand what the National referral mechanism is and how it protects and supports children, who are victims of this form of slavery. It will give you an over view of your professional duties, who the first responders are, how Croydon’s NRM panel works, what the referral process is, and what happens if a child has a positive conclusive grounds decision. 

Course Aims 

Professionals will learn:
• Explore how to identify children who need to be referred to NRM. 
• How to make a referral to NRM 
• Understand the NRM process 
• Understand the benefits of NRM referral for children they are working with 
• Understand their legal duties to refer a child 
• Understand how the NRM Pilot works in Croydon 
• Consider what a good referral looks like.
