Practical 2 day in-person training to support parent/infant bonding
Day 1: Practical Skills for Early Identification of Parenting Strengths and Need
Focus: early identification of parent, fetal/infant & family psycho-social, andmental health need during pregnancy & infancy
Training aims: (1) Help practitioners to use a range of evidence-basedpractice tools that promote fetal/infant development, perinatal mental health &parent-infant relationships, & the transition of mothers and fathers to parenthood
(2) Help practitioners to make accurate, well-informed professional and parentdecisions about family needs during pregnancy and early infancy
Day 2: Evidence Base for Early Parent/Infant Bonding
Focus: fetal & early infant development, mother/father-fetal/early infantcommunication, interaction & relationships
Learning outcomes:
(i) to understand the development of the psychosocialdevelopment of fetus & early infant
(ii) to be able to engage parents during pregnancy in using a ranges of ways ofinteracting with their baby that promote parental reflective function, interaction,relationships & bonding
- Suitable for all practitioners working with families, no previous mental health training required
- 2 day in person training
- Attend and complete both days
- Each day lasts from 9:30am-4pm
